Use Rankbist to make your own websites better, honestly. Here is what that means in practice.
01Why this policy exists
Rankbist is shared by many customers and reaches other people's websites when it audits them. These rules keep it fair, fast and safe for everyone. They are part of our Terms of Service.
02Content
Don't use Rankbist to create, check or improve content that:
- is illegal where you or your readers are, or infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy;
- sexually exploits or endangers children, or is non-consensual intimate content;
- promotes violence, terrorism, harassment or hatred against people for who they are;
- is designed to deceive: fake reviews, impersonation, scams, phishing, or false health, financial or legal claims;
- is malware, or helps someone break into systems.
03Site audits, crawling and tracking
- Audit only sites you own or have permission to audit. You confirm this before each audit.
- Don't use Rankbist to load-test, attack or probe sites, or to reach private or internal addresses. Rankbist obeys robots.txt and crawl delays; don't try to get around that.
- Connect only Search Console, Analytics or Bing accounts you are allowed to use.
04Videos in Creator Studio
Before each video you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it. In addition to the content rules above, don't upload videos that:
- you didn't make and have no licence for, including re-uploads of films, TV, sports broadcasts, music videos or other creators' videos;
- contain sexual content or nudity, graphic violence or gore, or show real people who haven't agreed to be filmed in a private setting;
- promote dangerous acts, self-harm, weapons, illegal drugs, or scams and misleading financial or health claims.
Every video is checked automatically before it is analysed. A video that breaks these rules is refused, the refusal counts towards your plan's video allowance, and repeated attempts may lead to the steps in “What happens if the rules are broken”. Don't try to get around the check or your plan's length and file-size limits, for example by changing the analysis copy.
05Fair use and package limits
- Don't get around limits, for example with several free accounts, shared logins or automated sign-ups.
- Don't scrape, copy or resell the Service or its data, or use it to build a competing product.
- Use the browser extension, add-ons and access tokens only for your own account; keep tokens secret.
- Automated use beyond the official extensions and plugins needs our written permission.
06Security
Don't test, scan or attack Rankbist's security, overload our systems, or access data that isn't yours.
Found a vulnerability? Please tell us privately at legal@rankbist.com with steps to reproduce it. We won't take action against good-faith research that respects this policy and gives us time to fix the issue.
07AI features
Review AI output before you publish it. Don't present generated text as expert advice it isn't, and don't use AI features to produce the content listed above. You are responsible for what you publish.
08What happens if the rules are broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may warn you, remove content, limit features, suspend or close the account, and where the law requires it report it to the authorities. Where possible we explain why and let you put things right first. Refunds aren't given for accounts closed for serious breaches, without affecting your statutory rights.
09Reporting abuse
If you see Rankbist being misused, for example someone auditing your site without permission, write to legal@rankbist.com.
