The sources
What each tool reads, in plain words.
Content checks and the article generator
28 tests in 8 categories, run by Rankbist on your text. The same engine scores pasted drafts, live pages, every page of a site audit and generated articles.
Our engineRank Tracker
Google's own average position, clicks and impressions for your verified site, read-only. Rankbist stores each day so your history outlasts Google's 16 months.
Your Search ConsoleSite Audit
Pages read from your sitemap and links, obeying robots.txt and waiting between requests. The Health Score is the share of pages with no errors.
Our crawlerPage speed
A Lighthouse lab test, plus real visitors' Core Web Vitals from the Chrome UX Report when Google has enough of them.
Google PageSpeed InsightsSite Explorer and Backlinks
An open graph of links between domains, published every few months. The Authority Score is our 0–100 scale of a domain's place in it. A large sample of the web, not every link.
Common Crawl web graphKeywords Explorer ideas
What people type into Google, YouTube, Amazon and Bing. It shows that demand exists, not how much, so it never carries a volume.
Public autocompleteSearch numbers
Bing's own search counts, labelled “Bing only”, and Google Keyword Planner estimates shown as ranges. Google doesn't publish exact counts.
Bing Webmaster · Google AdsBrand Radar and AI citations
Your questions put to Gemini with Google Search, and Perplexity or ChatGPT search where enabled. A weekly sample, always labelled as an estimate.
Official AI APIsCreator Studio research
Content Keyword, Video ideas and the video SEO link check read public video and channel data through an official API, plus real search suggestions. When fresh data isn't available, older data is shown with its date — never a made-up number.
Public video data · suggestionsShorts maker analysis
A small low-resolution copy of the part you choose is analysed for speech, the best moments and SEO text. It is deleted right after; the short videos are made from your original on your own computer.

The rules we hold ourselves to
A sample is called a sample, an estimate is called an estimate, and a range is never shown as an exact figure.
When a source has nothing to say, Rankbist says “no data” or “not in the graph”. It never fills the gap with a zero or a guess.
When a source fails, the report names it, and anything you were charged for that didn't run is given back.
